London Met LGBT eBulletin

Hi All

I know it has been a while since the last eBulletin but there have been a
few issues with room bookings and other events which have limited my time to
get this out to you.

We have loads of new members which is great, but we need more. I would like
to see us have 200 by the Easter break. It is possible – just invite your
friends to register at www.metlgbt.co.uk/register.

The website now has the scene section up! Check it out – and if you want to
add some comments or a venue email us!

Monday 3rd March (2000 – 2300) LSE Underground Bar, Houghton Street

It's Gap time and we're going Old Skool for the night - school ties, shirts,
blazers. The lot. Come down for some great tunes spun by Alex Baker, free
entry and cheap drinks! - Q jump to Heaven afterwards :-)

Royal National Hotel, Russell Square

The LGBT Jobfair is a safe, welcoming and a relaxed atmosphere place

where you can meet employers from all sectors.

The event will be opened by Ben Summerskill (Chief Executive, Stonewall) at
11am. There will be around 30 major employers and 6 community stands.
Workshops:

12.00 noon A presentation with Accenture - What is Business Consulting?
1.00 pm  In-Depth CV Workshop with Sam Mansfield - bring your CV!
2.30 pm Dress for Success - empowerment for women at work.

Everything is free!  Registration is on the day – bring along your CV

Crusaid Fundraising

My name is Elisa and I'm studying Performing Arts. On 26th May I will be
running the BUPA London 10k marathon Crusaid (www.crusaid.org.uk) 

Therefore I'm fundraising for them while challenging myself. :o) I set up a
page at justgiving so it gets easier to donate and the money goes directly

Stonewall’s Brighton 10k Equality Walk - Sunday 4th May

Stonewall are delighted to announce that the Brighton 10K equality walk will
take place again this year hosted by Amy Lame, Sue Perkins and Dick and
Dolly. 

So what do you get? You get fit, you get goodies, you get a t-shirt and you
get to go to an after walk party! Plus you are helping a leading charity!

NUS LGBT Conference

The NUS LGBT Campaign holds an annual conference in which it decides policy
for LGBT Students. This year the conference will be held in Nottingham (25th
to 27th April) and there will be 4 places (2 open place and 2 female). You
can put yourself forward for election if you want. 

The executive agreed that the President and Women’s Officer should have a
place so there is 1 open place position (this can be for anyone) and 1
women’s place (must be a self-defining woman).

Rules for standing are below:

1.     You have to have attended at least one Met LGBT meeting (not event
i.e. Destination Met not included)

2.     You must attend all meetings (unless there is a good cause) once
elected as a delegate – if you do not the person voted below you will go.
